INTOSAI Regional Coordinating Platform Meeting Cape Town
The South African SAI hosted a two-day coordinating platform for INTOSAI global bodies and INTOSAI regions from 21 to 22 May 2019. The purpose of the platform was to create an opportunity for INTOSAI stakeholders to discuss and update each other on current realities and how to improve coordination and alignment of INTOSAI strategic goals. Below key points were discussed by participants:
- Mr Kimi Makwetu (Auditor General South Africa) and the Deputy Auditor General, Ms Tsakane Ratsela set the tone for the day by stimulating discussions on issues of mutual interest.
- Stakeholders discussed current status on leadership development programmes implemented by INTOSAI global bodies and INTOSAI regions
- Delegates made recommendations on issues relating to Quality Assurance, Quality Control, ISSAI implementations, ISSAI quality and utility Value.
- Stakeholders further discussed SAI PMF revised Strategy, Performance monitoring, communication strategy and support for auditing SDGs.
- Participants spent time discussing challenges and recommendations in sharing information and how to resolve the challenge of translation of standards in different languages.
- Delegates lastly received an update on the INCOSAI preparations planned in Moscow. Details of the draft programme and layout of the congress venu.
